Introducing the TSTS
The Tunisian Science and Technology Society (TSTS) was formally established in September 1999 an independent, not-for-profit, non-government, non-political, scientific organization of Tunisians involved in science and technology. It remained dormant for 10 years due to the negative political atmosphere that reigned in Tunisia during that period. The January 14, 2011 Revolution of the Tunisian people gave renewed hope and motivation to the organization membership.
Vision
Become a leading Science and Technology organization in Tunisia and the Arab World.
Mission
Contribute to Tunisia's sustainable development and advancement in science and technology through the collective action and networking of Tunisians involved in science and technology.
Objectives
- Organize scientific conferences and seminars to present and debate contemporary scientific issues such as those dealing with latest scientific developments and their application to promote sustainable development in Tunisia;
- Facilitate and stimulate the cooperation between the academic and industrial sectors by all possible means (short courses, training courses, exhibitions, cooperative programs, etc.);
- Assist fresh Tunisian graduates find equitable employment in Tunisia and abroad;
- Initiate cooperative programs between scientific institutions in Tunisia and similar institutions in other countries;
- Establish Branches in different countries to achieve a networked and coordinated Tunisian scientific community world-wide;
- Establish Affiliates in the various disciplines of science and technology;
- Publish newsletters, scientific journals, magazines and reports in the various fields of science as well as, guides, manuals, and databases of Tunisian human and material resources in science and technology;
- Develop and maintain a website with all necessary tools for easy networking and sharing knowledge and information.
